How to take accurate measurements

Taking accurate measurements for your house plans is easy. Before you start, you’ll need to make sure you have the following:

A TAPE MEASURE - a good quality 5 metre tape as a minimum

A PENCIL OR PEN.

A PRINT OUT OF YOUR INTERACTIVE PLANS.

Before you start, you’ll find it much easier if you have someone to help you take the measurements. You can use millimetres (mm), centimetres (cm) or metres (m). Just make sure that you use the same unit of measurements for all dimensions.

To make it easy for you, all the dimensions that we need in order to produce accurate plans are indicated on the plan and are numbered 1-XX. So all you have to do is record the measurements numbered 1-XX on the print out and enter them into the table at the bottom of the plan on your computer. That’s all there is to it. But, please do let us know if anything is unclear or you would like to discuss the process.

We’re sure that once you get started, you’ll find our system works really well. And what’s more, it will save you time and money.
